About Us
AusAnime was originally started in 2002, by three guys – Scuzzy, Metaball and Q – who felt that there was a distinct lack of an Australian site for the Australian Anime community. Over the years, they developed a tight-nit community, spanning across Australia. However, the site membership started to decline in 2007 as social networks started to explode in popularity, and the AusAnime crew felt that they couldn’t invest the time and effort to keep the site running.
On the 19th of August, 2007 – site founder Metaball, wrote:
Well, it was fun while it lasted. I will look at re-opening some time in the future when I can decide exactly what direction I want the website to take and I have the help to do it. Thanks for all your support over the years and I hope that I will get the plesure of your company again. Have fun watching the greatest form of animation ever developed.

However, the core community persisted, and there had always been talk of resurrecting the original site. Two original community members, Bronan and Jaymz, decided to invest the time and effort to bring AusAnime back, with the help and guidance from two of the original founders, Scuzzy and Metaball.
Our new plan is to take the site further, while staying true to the original community that made AusAnime what it was, and is today.
